John Harrop Receives Manson A. Stewart Teacher Training Award

Congratulations to John Harrop for receiving the Manson A. Stewart Teacher Training Award from the Classical Association of the Middle West and South. The award recognizes primary-, middle-, and secondary-school teachers, graduate students, and undergraduates preparing for a teaching career in Latin and is designed to provide financial assistance to those who wish to obtain certification to teach Latin at the primary through the secondary level.

Inspired to pursue education in large part due to his high school Latin teacher, John is currently working towards completing his Master of Arts in Teaching degree with Latin certification from Washington University in St. Louis.  He previously earned a B.A. in Classics from Truman State University, where he had the opportunity to design and implement a Latin curriculum for elementary students.  In his free time, John enjoys hiking, journaling, and travel.  After graduation, he hopes to continue to teach Latin in a high school in the St. Louis area.
