Washington University's chapter of Kappa Delta Pi's (KDP) grant proposal, "Activating a Multilingual Family Lending Library", has been accepted by the Women's Society of Washington University. It will be funded for the maximum amount of $1,000.
With this grant, KDP will further partner with the International Welcome Center in the underserved Ritenour School District. This includes providing books and materials for a lending library that will serve multicultural and multilingual families in the United States for less than 2 years. This grant will also provide resources to assist families in self-selecting supplementary books and games to strengthen and reinforce English language skills in their homes. In addition, it will provide KDP students expertise, dialogue, and leadership opportunities working with educators in the field.
Congratulations, KDP and KDP advisor Judy Joerding!
