Eligibility and Requirements
Students in either major - Teacher Education or Educational Studies - may be eligible for either the College of Arts and Sciences' Latin Honors Program or Department Honors. Eligiblity is determined by the following:
The College of Arts and Sciences' Latin Honors Program:
- Overall minimum cumulative GPA of 3.65 (final GPA, including eighth semester)
- Grades earned at other institutions do not figure in the calculation of minimum averages (transfer students must complete at least 48 letter-graded units at Washington University)
- Successful completion of an original research project
Department of Education Departmental Honors:
- Overall minimum GPA of 3.5 in Education course work (including eighth semester)
- Sucessful completion of an original research project
Sophomores and Juniors interested in pursuing honors should contact either the Director of Teacher Education or the Director of Educational Studies to discuss eligibility, requirements, and Honors Thesis guidelines.
