This course designed to provide students with foundational training in quantitative statistical methods. The course provides an introduction to basic statistical concepts and analyses using R packages. Some of the concepts covered include: descriptive statistics, correlation, regression, ANOVA, effect size, research design, validity, reliability, and nonparametric statistics. Students will apply these concepts by analyzing actual data with R. Overall, students will acquire sophisticated understandings of quantitative research design as a framework for processing data using statistical software. Prerequisites: EDUC 403 or equivalent and permission of the instructor.
