Professor Cindy Brantmeier to give the plenary address for the United Nations/UNESCO international conference on literacy

Cindy Brantmeier has been selected to give the plenary address for the United Nations/UNESCO international conference on literacy.

She has been asked to report the findings of her 16 years of experimental research on second language reading across languages and cultures, and offer corresponding implications for UNESCO’s central mission of literacy to underscore the fact that literacy is a fundamental human right.  

The title of her plenary will be:
“Research on Literacy across Languages and Cultures in an Increasingly Interconnected World”

The address will take place in Chile, in October, 2017.
